LEARN TO SPIN YOUR OWN YARN
Have you ever wanted to create your own yarn? Made from locally harvested fiber?
You don't need to own a farm to create beautiful yarns. In this class I will teach you how to get started! The basics from washing fiber, picking, carding and blending and onto the principles of spinning a single in order to ply it with another single to create a beautiful 2-ply hand spun yarn will be covered.
Each class will be limited to 4 participants. All are welcome, no experience needed.
If you want to sign up for both classes, you may do that as well. Teaching within a small group helps me provide attention to the individual learning styles and needs/skills of my participants. I love to create my own yarn and am so excited to be offering this small class!
If you have a spinning wheel and need help getting started or out of a stuck phase..., bring it along as each wheel is unique in production. If you don't have a wheel, no worries, I will teach you on one of my spinning wheels. We will talk about the different styles of spinning wheels as well.
Classes are four hours long, so plan for at least five hours if you'd like to get a visit in with our alpacas. Wear comfortable clothing and be ready to unwind for a few hours of learning on our farm!
Classes are 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. for both dates.
Refund policy: if you need to cancel up to 72 hours of the class dates, less 5% processing fees.
Look forward to spinning with you!
